
Technical Arts Coordinator
First Methodist Church of Valdosta, a historic downtown congregation rooted in the Methodist/Wesleyan tradition, seeks a skilled and ministry-minded Technical Arts Coordinator to help create engaging worship experiences through excellence in audio, video, livestream, and production ministries. The ideal candidate will possess strong technical skills, attention to detail, and a heart for supporting worship and ministry through technology. This position will work closely with pastors, worship leaders, volunteers, and church staff to ensure high-quality production for worship services and special events. Depending upon the qualifications and experience of the selected candidate, this position may be filled as either a part-time or full-time role.
Responsibilities
• Ensure the successful execution of all audio, video, projection, and livestream production for weekly contemporary and traditional worship services.
• Coordinate production support for special events, concerts, conferences, weddings, funerals, and seasonal services throughout the year.
• Recruit, train, schedule, and oversee technical volunteers and additional production staff.
• Edit, upload, and distribute weekly audio podcasts, sermon videos, and other digital ministry content.
• Produce highlight and recap videos for church events and ministry initiatives.
• Coordinate seasonal stage designs, set changes, and technical setup for worship and special events.
• Maintain and troubleshoot audio, video, livestream, and presentation equipment.
• Work collaboratively with church staff and ministry leaders to support the communication and worship ministries of the church.
• For full-time candidates, responsibilities may additionally include website management, social media coordination, digital communications, and other general church staff duties.
Qualifications
• Associate’s degree or higher in Media Production, Audio Engineering, Communications, Technology, Worship Production, or a related field preferred.
• Relevant professional, volunteer, or ministry experience in live audio, video production, livestreaming, or technical arts required.
• Experience with digital audio consoles, presentation software (such as ProPresenter), video production systems, and livestream platforms preferred.
• Ability to lead and work effectively with volunteers and ministry teams.
• Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with staff and ministry leaders.
• Ability to relate well to a multi-generational congregation.
